Swab And Send Home (SASH)

COVID-19 testing for patients with history and symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 infection

The COVID-19 swab test is conducted at Precious Medical Services under the Swab And Send Home (SASH) initiative in Singapore.

If you are assessed as showing symptoms suggestive of COVID-19, as a Public Health Preparedness Clinic (PHPC) in Singapore, our team is able to perform a swab test at our clinic.

Requests and referrals for COVID-19 testing for asymptomatic patients are not allowed (e.g. for immigration purposes, employer’s request, for the worried well). If you are referred to us by another clinic or are a walk-in patient who is deemed to exhibit symptoms of COVID-19, you will not be charged for the consultation for the SASH scheme.

Our staff continue to maintain strict sanitisation procedures and safety distancing measures in our clinic as we work to serve you during this time.

FAQ

Where do I go to get a referral letter for a COVID-19 swab test?

You can approach your usual GP clinic should you be experiencing flu-like symptoms and they will be able to provide you a referral letter for the swab test. You may also come to WL&H Medical Clinic and visit our General Practitioner should you be feeling unwell and you would not need to get a referral letter.

Can a walk-in patient get a COVID-19 swab test?

Our doctor would have to review your condition and assess if you exhibit symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 infection, our staff will arrange for you to receive a swab test in our clinic. Requests for COVID-19 testing for asymptomatic patients is not allowed.

Will I need to pay a consultation fee for the COVID-19 swab test?

If you paid for a previous consultation with another doctor and obtained a referral letter in Singapore, you would not need to pay for consultation prior to the swab test. If you have not obtained a referral letter, you will be charged as a regular patient under the Flu Subsidy Scheme (FSS) or Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) for an Acute Visit. If you are not eligible for FSS or CHAS, you would have to bear the SASH PHPC consultation fee. If you wish to be treated for non-Acute Respiratory Infection (non-ARI) conditions, you will be charged for the consultation and medications separately.

How will I get informed of the COVID-19 swab test results?

Our friendly WL&H staff will be in contact with you when the results are ready.
