Thyroid Cancer Screening ($190)

Our Thyroid Screening Package includes a thyroid ultrasound examination, performed by trained radiographers using ultrasound imaging technology.

The thyroid gland is located in the front of the neck and plays a role in regulating metabolism and hormone production. Imaging of the thyroid may be performed to evaluate the structure of the gland and identify abnormalities that may require further medical assessment.

What is Thyroid Ultrasound?

A thyroid ultrasound uses sound waves to produce images of the thyroid gland. This examination allows healthcare professionals to visualise the thyroid and surrounding structures.

The scan may identify structural findings such as:

  • Thyroid nodules

  • Enlargement of the thyroid gland

  • Changes in thyroid tissue structure

Who May Consider Thyroid Screening?

  • Thyroid ultrasound screening may be considered by individuals who:

  • Notice a lump or swelling in the neck area

  • Have a family history of thyroid conditions

  • Wish to include thyroid imaging as part of routine health screening

Individuals with symptoms or medical concerns should seek medical advice from a qualified healthcare professional.

What to Expect During the Scan?

  • A small ultrasound probe will be placed over the neck area

  • Gel may be applied to assist the imaging process

  • Ultrasound imaging does not use radiation.

Preparation

No special preparation is typically required for a thyroid ultrasound.

You may wish to wear clothing that allows easy access to the neck area.

Report: Radiology report typically available within 3 working days via emails

Important Note

This screening package includes ultrasound imaging only.

If abnormalities are identified or if you have symptoms, you may be advised to consult a doctor for further medical evaluation.
