Liver Cancer Screening ($180)
The liver is an organ located in the upper right side of the abdomen and plays a role in metabolism, detoxification, and digestion. Imaging of the liver may be performed to evaluate the structure of the liver and identify abnormalities that may require further medical assessment. Our Liver Screening Package includes a liver ultrasound examination, performed using ultrasound imaging technology by trained radiographers.
What is Liver Ultrasound?
A liver ultrasound uses sound waves to produce images of the liver and surrounding structures.
The examination may help identify structural findings such as:
• Liver cysts or nodules
• Changes in liver texture
• Enlargement of the liver
• Fat accumulation in liver tissue
Who May Consider Liver Screening?
Liver ultrasound screening may be considered by individuals who:
Have a family history of liver conditions
Have been previously advised to monitor liver health
Wish to include liver imaging as part of routine health screening
Have risk factors such as long-term alcohol use, viral hepatitis, or metabolic conditions
Individuals experiencing symptoms such as persistent abdominal discomfort, jaundice, or unexplained fatigue should consult a qualified healthcare professional.
What to Expect During the Scan?
A small ultrasound probe will be placed over the upper abdominal area
Gel may be applied to assist the imaging process
Preparation instructions may include:
Fasting for approximately 6 hours before the scan
Wearing comfortable clothing for the examination
Additional instructions may be provided before the appointment if necessary.
